Dravid makes a comeback to his former IPL team in 2025!

Former Indian head coach, Rahul Dravid, is expected to join his old team in the upcoming 2025 IPL. Rajasthan Royals (RR) are in talks with him to get the position of the head coach.

Earlier he played for RR from 2011-2013 where he led the team for three years and in the 2013 season he took his team to the finals of Champions League. After the final he retired from T20 Cricket and from there onwards he was the mentor of the team from 2014-15.

In his mentorship one clip was highly memorable of him where he throws his cap in anger after losing the match against Mumbai Indians (MI) in a do or die situation. As he is known for his calmness in the ground but this scenario became highlighted for the day.

Earlier some reports suggested that Gautam Gambhir who is currently the head coach of India and the position of mentor in Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) is empty currently and Dravid might be approached by Kolkata to fill that place. But no confirmation came regarding this.

Kumar Sangakkara who is currently the director of cricket of RR, is not yet confirmed whether he will continue his services with the team or not, if the former Indian head coach gets the position of head coach in the team.

Dravid played 52 matches (IPL + Champions League) for Rajasthan and scored 1324 runs in which 7 half-centuries were included. His strike rate was 108.88 and the best was 66 runs for the team.
