Former Indian coach, Rahul Dravid, who left the head position of the coach of team India, might be seen in the Indian Premier League (IPL) from the next season.
According to the reports of News 18 Bangla, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) have been interested to rope in Dravid for the mentor role. As Gautam Gambhir is set to join the Indian team as a head coach, just few formalities remain then the official announcement to be made, then post for the mentorship in Knight Riders camp will be empty.
It is already said that KKR shot a farewell video for Gambhir as he joined the team last year after leaving Lucknow Super Giants (LSG). Now Dravid will be a perfect contender to replace him for the same role. As he got huge achievements under his pocket. Currently he got the T20 World Cup trophy while the team reached the final of 2023 ODI World Cup. The team won the 2023 Asia Cup while also reaching the World Test Championship (WTC) final.
Not only this, he was associated with the Indian Premier League teams earlier. He played for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Rajasthan Royals (RR) and did the leadership role there also. In 2014, he opted for a mentorship role for RR. Therefore he is a perfect fit for that role.
According to the reports, some other teams of the IPL franchise are also interested in taking Dravid as a head coach for the upcoming seasons. Therefore it might be interesting to see in which team he will be seen.
