After losing the last match against Punjab, they are out of the top 4 in the points table. They lost 5 while won 5 in their 10 matches with 10 points to their credit. They performed decently but couldn’t get the end results to their favour. In their last 5 matches they lost 3 and won 2.
Skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad is leading from the front in the batting department and is currently the orange cap holder with 509 runs. In the last 6 innings he is constantly providing valuable runs to the team at the start. His strike rate is 146.68 with an average of 63.62 which includes one century and four half-centuries. Punjab Kings (PBKS):
After two back to back victories, this team is looking much more stable than before. The two came against the top 4, one against KKR and the other one against CSK. In the absence of Shikhar Dhawan, it was looking quite a difficult task for Sam Curran to get back into winning track but he got his nerves and maintained the hopes of playoffs.
After making his return into the Playing 11, Jonny Bairstow has shown some lethality with the bat. In the last two matches he scored 108 and 46 runs. He is providing healthy power hitting to the team and is highly contributing to the winning cause. Rilee Rossouw also looked in rhythm after scoring 43 runs in the last match.
Skipper Sam Curran though is unable to make his contribution with the bat much but with the bowl he has some quality spells and as a result he grabbed 12 wickets for the team with an economy slightly on a higher side which is 9.94. Ashutosh Sharma has launched his power hitting whenever he came to bat and as a result his strike rate is 189.29.
Harshal Patel is leading the team in terms of wicket-taking with 14 wickets to his name. The only thing which he needs to worry about is his economy which is 10.24, as he conceded many runs especially in the death overs. Arshdeep Singh is also consistent with the wicket taking process with 13 wickets to his name but the economy being high which is above 10.
Kagiso Rabada has taken 11 wickets while spinners Harpreet Brar and Rahul Chahar were brilliant in the last match.
