India’s finest all-rounder Yuvraj Singh shows faith in Hardik Pandya after he was selected as the leader of the Mumbai Indians (MI) in Indian Premier League (IPL).
Hardik became the skipper of the blue jersey after replacing Rohit Sharma whose contribution to the team was very high as a leader as he won 5 titles under his leadership. Yuvraj in an interview with TOI came out from the statement in support of the new leader of the Mumbai as he said that the franchise always wanted young blood to lead the team which will ultimately get good results.
“In franchise cricket, it always gets tough as you get old. Every franchise is always looking to promote a young player on whom they have spent a lot and that is only fair. I have faced this situation too. But then there can’t be a replacement for experience. Rohit has huge experience and has delivered. But a franchise has to think long term.”
Yuvraj also revealed in the same interview why Ashwin should not be part of white ball cricket.
The all-rounder has performed very well in the white ball cricket and has contributed much in the 2007 T20 World Cup and 2011 ODI World Cup. He performed most of the times when the team needed him the most.
