Match 59: DC vs PBKS| Team Analysis| Best 11| Clashes.

Punjab Kings (PBKS) and Delhi Capitals (DC) will meet at Arun Jaitley Stadium, Delhi. PBKS is at 8th and DC is at 10th in the points table

Delhi is in a mere position to qualify for playoffs having 8 points in 11 matches while Punjab is in a contest but their negative run rate needs to be improved and also need to win the remaining matches. PBKS has 10 points in 11 matches.

Shikhar Dhawan is the leading run scorer for the team having scored 349 runs till now. He mostly gives a good steady start to the team. Also he is consistent with his performance. Prabhsimran Singh also contributes well during opening. These two provide a solid opening partnership for the team.

Delhi is almost out of the tournament; they only have a minor chance to go for the next stage. David Warner started well in the first half of the tournament but in the second half he barely scored runs. In his last 5 matches he got out in a single digit 3 times. Still he is leading the highest run for the team and scored 330 runs. Phil Salt whose performance goes up and down needs to be more consistent.

Bhanuka Rajapaksa came to the team in place of Matt Short but he got out in a duck. Against capitals he might be again dropped and Matt Short might be introduced again to the team. Liam Livingstone’s consistency is not constant and PBKS needs his destruction so that they can build a good score.

Mitchell Marsh also gets out cheaply in the last two matches. He has the ability to accelerate the innings but his contribution to the team decreases. He needs to spend more time on the pitch during batting. Rilee Rossouw and Manish Pandey both are scoring with a low strike rate and as a result the scoreboard moves slowly.

Jitesh Sharma is the 2nd highest scorer of the team having scored 260 runs till now. He shows his fireworks in the death overs and this guy shows a huge talent despite being an uncapped player. Sam Curran the most costliest player in the history of IPL, still missing his impactful performance. Team is hoping for his performance but he still couldn’t contribute much.

Axar Patel the 2nd highest run getter (267 runs) for the team and his consistency is highly commendable. He bats at number 6 or 7 position but still he always makes runs for the team. Since many of the players are not performing higher up the order, management needs to show faith and promote him a little bit up the order. Ripal Patel and Aman Hakim Khan need to perform at a constant pace. They couldn’t hit hard in the death overs and needed to change the attacking approach.

Punjab must be highly disappointed with the bowling approach of the team. Arshdeep Singh who only showed some wicket taking ability remaining bowlers were not performing constantly. He takes 16 wickets till now in the tournament. Rahul Chahar bowled brilliantly against KKR and grabbed 2 wickets with economy under 6. He needs to bowl like this in the remaining matches so that the team might go for the next round. Sam Curran and Nathan Ellis both remain expensive in their spells.

Mitchell Marsh was not so successful in batting but in bowling he is leading wicket taker for his team in this season. He takes 12 wickets till now in the tournament. Next to him is Axar Patel who not only bats brilliantly but also bowls pretty well. He took 9 wickets with an impressive economy of 6.81. Kuldeep Yadav also showed some good spells and took 9 wickets with an economy of 7.02.
