Zimbabwe legend cricketer Heath Streak is still alive

One of the greatest Zimbabwean bowling all-rounders Heath Streak whose news was circulating that he had passed away was actually false. 

For the treatment he went to South Africa and got the treatment for his colon and liver cancer. Henry Olonga, who was his ex-teammate, confirms the news through social media. 

Henry Olonga with his tweet says,

“I can confirm that rumours of the demise of Heath Streak have been greatly exaggerated. I just heard from him. The third umpire has called him back. He is very much alive folks.”

Heath Streak International Career, Stats and Records:

Heath Streak made his international debut against South Africa in an ODI series 10th November 1993 while in the same year he made his Test debut against Pakistan on 1st December 1993. He played his last international match against India on 20th September 2005. And in October 2005 he announced his retirement.  

He was also leading his sides several times and became Captain first time in 2000 in both Test and ODI. But due to some political tensions he withdrew his captainship but later on he again became the of Zimbabwe. In 2003 ICC Cricket World Cup with his brilliant captainship he took his team to the top 6. 

He had a brilliant record from his side. He is the only player to get 100 wickets in Test cricket and also the only player who reach 1000 runs and 100 wickets in Test and 2000 runs and 200 wickets in ODI from his country.

After retiring from International Cricket he entered into coaching duties where he trained two International teams ZImbabwe and Bangladesh. He also became coach in the Indian Premier League where he was seen with Kolkata Knight Riders (2018) and Gujarat Lions (2016-17).

In April 2021, he was found guilty and got banned for 8 years after having some relations with the corruption activities, which he accepted.
