West Indies announce their 50 over squad against India.

West Indies announces their ODI team for the match against India. Shai Hope will be leading the side and Rovman Powell will be his deputy. One of the highlights in the announcement was the return of destructive batsman Shimron Hetmyer. Caribbean players will have to play 3 ODI matches

Hetmyer last played for his team that was against New Zealand in August last year. It was a T20 game. In ODI he was part approx two years ago. Not only Hetmyer but Oshane Thomas also got a returning call for his team.

West Indies is out of the ODI World Cup which will be played in India. It is the first time in the history when the two times champion will not be seen in the World Cup. Now it will be quite a great time for the Caribbean players to make their team powerful and comeback in the next World Cup strongly.

The ODI squad of the Indian team had already been announced. They also won the Test series by 1-0

West Indies chief selector Desmond Haynes said,

“We welcome Oshane and Shimron back into the group. Both had played at the international level before, with some success, and we believe they will fit well into the set-up. Oshane brings pace and is a potential wicket-taker with the new ball. Shimron’s style of batting will offer a lot especially in the middle stage of the innings and he is a potential finisher.”
