Vinod Kambli who was once a great batter and friend of Sachin Tendulkar has been admitted to the Akruti hospital which is in Thane (Mumbai) few days back due to the serious health issue (clotting in brain).
Now he released a statement where he thanked the doctors of the hospital who treated him. In that statement he said,
“I am alive because of the doctors here. All I would say is that I will do whatever sir (referring to the doctor) asks me to. People will see the inspiration that I’ll give them.”
Kambli has been in the limelight for a few months due to his health issues. Recently he was seen along with Sachin Tendulkar at the inauguration of a memorial of renowned cricket coach Ramakant Vitthal Achrekar at the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Park where he was unable to stand properly. This created a huge buzz among the former Indian cricketers who showed concern over Kambli’s health and assured full treatment of him.
His friend, Marcus Couto, said that Vinod’s health is getting better and might be there in the hospital for close to one month. He told TOI, “Kambli is doing fine now. He is suffering from a urinary infection and was admitted to the hospital on Saturday. I met him at the hospital today. I told them to treat him at the hospital for a month since he has many health issues. Since someone is ready to spend money on his treatment, why not?”
Dr. Vivek Dwivedi, who is treating the former Indian cricketer told HT, “When he was admitted on Saturday, he was having massive cramps along with fever and dizziness. He was not able to sit, and was not able to walk. He was also drowsy at the time of admission. We did all the investigation and after that came to know that he was having a urinary tract infection along with electrolyte imbalance. Sodium was a bit on the lower side, potassium was on the lower side. That was the reason for the cramps. His BP was also on the lower side. We started him on antibiotics.”
