Vijay Mallya’s curious request from RCB

Vijay Mallaya, ex-owner of the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) congratulated the Bangalore women for winning the maiden WPL trophy.

Yesterday RCB women registered their first trophy after defeating Delhi Capitals (DC) in the finals by 8 wickets. A huge comeback by the girls as they were in the bottom of the table in the 2023 inaugural season.

The men’s team are playing from the 2008 inaugural season but they are yet to win the IPL trophy. A huge fanbase for the franchise, especially because of Virat Kohli as it is seen already in the stadiums during the matches. In this Women’s league, also when the matches were in Bengaluru, the fans showed their huge support to their regional teams.

Now the former owner, through his social media, wanted a trophy for the men’s team. He said, “Heartiest congratulations to the Bangalore Women’s Team for winning the WPL. It would be a fantastic double if the RCB Men’s Team won the IPL which is long overdue. Good Luck.”

Indian Premier League will start from March 22nd and Bangalore will play their first match against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on the first day of the tournament. According to the partial schedule released by the BCCI, the Royals will play 5 matches.
