USA advanced their seat into the Super 8 after rain washed out the match between United States and Ireland. After this Pakistan were knocked out from the further round.
United States will play their first ever Super 8 round in the ICC T20 World Cup. They were having 5 points in Group A and were 2nd in the Group after India (6 points currently). Ireland also got eliminated from the further stages.
Due to continuous raining the previous day, there were heavy patches in the outfield and groundsmen did their best to soak it out on time but rain again started at last. Finally after waiting for a longer period of time, the match was called off due to the unfavorable playing conditions.
Pakistan will play their last match against Ireland, but it will remain a formality as their dream for further rounds got shattered.
