UPW’s thrilling win over DC in the last over

Uttar Pradesh Warriorz (UPW) clinched a win from the mouth of Delhi Capitals (DC) to maintain their hope for the playoffs. They defeated Delhi by 1 run. 

Earlier they both met, their Delhi registered easy win over Uttar Pradesh where they won the match by 9 wickets

After winning the toss, Warriorz opted to bat first. 

Deepti Sharma (59 runs) again fought the battle for the team single handedly and registered a brilliant half-century. She played 48 balls and hit 6 fours and a six in her knock. Skipper Alyssa Healy (29 runs) tried little at the start but she took 30 balls to reach there. 

Rest all the other batters couldn’t score much, due to which the whole team managed 138 runs in 20 overs by losing 8 wickets.  

The Capitals bowlers again bowled brilliantly. Titas Sadhu and Radha Yadav got 2 wickets each. Shikha Pandey, Arundhati Reddy, Jess Jonassen and Alice Capsey got 1 wicket each. 

During the chase, Delhi’s captain Meg Lanning (60 runs) again scored a brilliant half-century. She didn’t get any proper support from the other end. She played 46 balls and hit 12 boundaries in her knock. 

Due to the non performing of other batters, the whole team lagged behind just by 1 run and scored 137 runs in 20 overs and the whole team got submitted. 

Deepti in the bowling department also shines as she grabbed 4 wickets. Saima Thakor and Grace Harris got 2 wickets each. Sophie Ecclestone got 1 wicket.
