South Africa again did a miracle in the death overs and grabbed the victory from the mouth of Bangladesh. They won the match by 4 runs.
South Africa scored 113/6 in 20 overs and in reply Bangladesh scored 109/7 in 20 overs.
Both the teams registered victory in their last encounter but both of them finished in the close ones. The Proteas got past Netherlands in the last minute while the Bengal Tigers clinched the victory from the mouth of Sri Lanka.
Aiden Markram, after winning the toss, chooses to bat first.
Proteas top order again failed and they lost 4 wickets in just 23 runs. From there Heinrich Klaasen and David Miller built a great partnership of 79 runs for the 5th wicket.
Klaasen scored 46 runs in 44 balls and hit 2 fours and 3 sixes whereas Miller scored a little slow and contributed 29 runs in 38 balls. Due to these two contributions, the team got past the 100 mark on the board.
Tanzim Hasan Shakib got 3 wickets while Taskin Ahmed got 2 wickets. Rishad Hossain got 1 wicket.
The target was achievable but the bengal tigers kept losing wickets at regular intervals due to which no big partnerships were created. Towhid Hridoy kept the faith for the team after scoring 37 runs in 34 balls and hit 2 fours and 2 sixes in his knock. But he departed at the last moments.
Mahmudullah also tried to do the miracle, like he did in the last match against Lankans but hit missed the six in the second last ball by just a few inches and got out. With him the ray of hope diminished and at last they lost the match.
The shining star of the match was Keshav Maharaj who conceded quite a good amount of runs in his 3 overs but when he came in the last over to bowl he just turned the things apart. With his superb skills he makes the batters confused with his fulltosses. He got 3 wickets by giving away 27 runs in his 4 overs. Kagiso Rabada and Anrich Nortje got 2 wickets each.
