Due to rain, Australia were looking in a little relaxing condition as England needed 5 more wickets to win the match. England just bowled 30 overs. Aussies made 214/5 as the match stopped due to rain. In the morning due to persistent rain the match starts much delayed and the 1st session goes in vain due to this. Then the 2nd session where only 30 overs were bowled.
Marcus Labuschagne scored a brilliant century and his first this Ashes series. In the ongoing series he wasn’t able to score much and was criticized for his bad performance. But his crucial knock at the crucial point, shuts down everyone’s mouth. It was his 11th century.
Labuschagne along with Marsh put 103 runs together. But the only wicket fell on day 4 was Marcus, who was dismissed by Joe Root. Due to uneven bounce of the ball it took the edge of Marcus’s bat and eventually Bairstow took a simple catch behind the stumps. He made a valuable innings of 111 runs including 10 fours and 2 sixes.
Mitchell Marsh is batting at 31 runs and Chris Green on the other end is at 3 runs. These two will have a huge lot of response as they both need to bat as much as they can to avoid the loss. Australia is still 61 runs behind. On the other hand England want to take the remaining 5 wickets as early as they can, so that the series will be equal.
On day 4, they added only 101 more runs to their day 3 score. Rain and bad light stops the game and now lets see the day 5 which will surely be tense from both the sides.
