Pooran was fined 15% in the 2nd T20

Nicholas Pooran was fined for breaching the Code of Conduct in the 2nd T20 against India. He was found for breaching the Level 1 ICC Code of Conduct. He was fined with 15% of the total match fee. 

He was found guilty according to the article 2.7 of ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel which states “public criticism in relation to an incident occurring in an international match.”

Pooran accepted the offence and no further hearing is required. The sanction was imposed by the on field umpires- Leslie Reifer and Nigel Duguid, third umpire Gregory Braithwaite and fourth official Patrick Gustard. It was proposed by the match referee Richie Richardson. 

The incident occurs when Pooran opposes the LBW decision in the 4th over during the Indian batting. When the umpire goes for a player review, he thought he was clearly not out and didn’t need to do that. 

Pooran played an important innings in the 2nd T20 against India. Caribbean won the match by 2 wickets. His 67 runs proved a vital knock at the end and awarded player of the match. With this win, West Indies are 2-0 ahead against India and 3 more matches to go.
