Pat Cummins put Australia on the driving seat at the end of day 2 of the 3rd Ashes Test.

Australian captain, Pat Cummins 6 wickets haul gets his team 26 runs lead. England in their 1st innings posted 237 runs. While Australia in their 2nd innings posted 116-4 at the end of the day. They got a lead of 142 runs till now at the end of the 2nd day. 

England resumed their day 1 score of 68-3 and at the same score Root got out without adding any runs to his previous score. Root scored 19 runs and Cummins took his wicket. Next one was Bairstow, he played a poor shot and Smith in the 2nd slip took a flying catch. Starc dismissed him. 

Then Moeen Ali and Ben Stokes tried to settle in the crease. But when they both looked good then Cummins took the wicket of Moeen Ali through his short delivery. He departed at the score of 21 runs. Just before lunch, Starc delivered another wicket and his short ball couldn’t be dodged by Woakes and Carey took a regular catch. Mark Wood looked dangerous as he hit 24 runs in just 8 balls which includes 3 sixes and 1 four and then Cummins took the charge and got his wicket.

Broad was the next one whom Cummins hunted next. Again a short ball helped him and Broad misjudged the ball and Smith took a simple catch. Again Captain Stokes taking the charge and this time also he started hitting the balls out of the ground. He was the last one who fell and Todd Murphy took his wicket. He departed after scoring 80 runs in 108 balls which includes 5 sixes and 6 fours.   

Pat Cummins performed brilliantly and grabbed 6 useful wickets. Starc clinches 2 wickets. Whereas Marsh and Murphy both get 1 wicket each. 

Australia in their 2nd innings, Warner again got no answer of Broad delivery  and got out after scoring only 1 run. Then more 57 runs added for the 2nd wicket between Labuschagne and Khawaja. After that Moeen Ali came and broke the partnership. He took the wicket of Labuschagne who scored 33 runs. Steve Smith fails in the 2nd innings also and Moeen Ali gets him. He departs after scoring 2 runs. It was Moeen Ali’s 200th Test wicket.   

After that the well settled Khawaja who was scoring good gets departed by Woakes. He made 43 runs in 96 balls. But Head and Marsh, like in the 1st innings again, both of the players stick to the ground and play sensibly. Marsh is at 17 runs and Head is at 18 runs at the end of the day. Australia made 116-4 at the end of the day.
