Yuvraj Singh’s fastest half century and Rohit Sharma’s fastest century were broken by Nepal players. Nepal not only broke these two records but also put the highest T20 score on the board.
In the Asian Games NEP played against Mongolia where Dipendra Singh broke the record of Yuvraj by hitting the fifty in just 9 balls, earlier it was 12 balls which was made by Yuvraj. Dipendra scored unbeaten 52 runs in 10 balls with a superb strike rate of 520 and also created a record in the strike rate. In his innings he hit 8 sixes.
Kushal Malla, the other Nepalese batter scored unbeaten 137 runs in 50 balls. He scored his century in 34 balls breaking the earlier record of Rohit Sharma and David Miller who took 35 balls to score their respective centuries. Malla hit 8 fours and 12 sixes in his knock.
NEP scored 314 runs in 20 overs breaking the record of Afghanistan who scored 278 runs against Ireland on 23rd February 2019. Not only this, NEP hit 26 sixes in their innings and created a world record by breaking the most number of sixes hit by Afghanistan which was 22 sixes against Ireland in that same match.
They defeated Mongolia by 273 runs which is the highest margin won by a team. Mongolia only manages 41 runs in 13.1 overs.
