Teams Analysis

Namibia (NAM):

Despite the team registering victory in their first match, they needed to be a little more consistent with their batting as they were chasing a below par score but they couldn’t get there and as a result they played the Super Over and got victory from there.

Skipper Gerald Erasmus is a great all-rounder of the team and has a decent experience in this format. In the first match, he shined with his bowling as he got 2 wickets in his 4 overs by giving away only 20 runs, but on the other hand he choked little in his batting. He scored just 13 runs for which he played 16 balls. He needs to do a little better with the bat.

Openers Michael van Lingen and Nikolaas Davin didn’t get the desired start as Lingen got out on a duck while Davin only managed 24 runs in 31 balls. Davin is known for a destructive start from the beginning while Lingen got little defensive approach in comparison to him.

Jan Frylinck topped the chart for most runs in the first match for the team after scoring 45 runs in 48 balls. Despite his batting, he is well known for his bowling but didn’t get the chance to show his skills in this department in the first match. On the other hand, David Wiese, the most experienced player in the squad was the reason behind the team’s victory as he scored 13 runs in the Super Over and took his team to defendable total. While with the bowl he got 3 wickets in the match by giving away 28 runs in his 3.4 overs. Also in the Super Over he got 1 wicket and named the win for the team.

Left arm pacer Ruben Trumpelmann got the most wickets for his team by taking 4 wickets in his 4 overs by giving away just 21 runs. Tangeni Lungameni also supported him well from the other end. Though he didn’t take any wickets but made constant pressure with his deliveries and as a result he gave only 18 runs in 4 overs. Bernard Scholtz who is an experienced spinner from the side got one wicket in his 4 overs. His career economy is 6.05 which is way too brilliant in this shortest format.

Scotland (SCO):

The first of the team washed away due to rain. But they got some positives from that match in their batting department. The toss happened at the right time but the match started late due to the rain. Then the match got started and as in the 6th over the rain started again and the match stopped.

Then after some time the match started it was reduced to 10 overs where they scored 90 runs without any loss of wickets and with DLS it got to 109 runs. But after their innings, England didn’t come to bat due to rain and finally it was called off.

Richie Berrington, the leader of the team is a well known all-rounder. He has scored over 2000 runs and has taken 28 wickets till now. He has one century and ten half-centuries to their name. His strike rate is 132.09 and might get aggressive in the death overs.

The openers George Munsey and Michael Jones got a record first wicket partnership in the T20 World Cup for the team. Munsey scored 41 runs in 31 balls whereas Munsey scored 45 runs in 30 balls. Both have a strike rate of 143 in international circuit. They might be a beast in these circumstances again.

Wicket-keeper batter Matthew Cross has a huge experience in this format and is known for his finishing skills. He has scored 1181 runs in 59 innings in which 5 half-centuries were included. Micheal Leask the all-rounder of the team has a strike rate of 129.72 and is known for hard hitting in the death overs. With the bowl he has 40 wickets till now.

Mark Watt the experienced bowler from the team has 77 wickets to his credit with an economy of 6.81. His spin finds batters a little hard to play.

Pitch Report for the match between Namibia (NAM) and Scotland (SCO):

The match will be played at Kensington Oval, Bridgetown, Barbados. In this pitch three matches have been played , one of them washed away due to rain while the other two ones did not result in a big score. Batters find it difficult to play here and bowlers get a good amount of help. Both pacers and spinners benefit from the pitch as it gets slower. Despite this, it might get little useful for the batters in the 2nd half, therefore chasing might be a better option here after winning the toss.

Weather Report:

The weather is expected to be a little cloudy as there is a 5% chance of rain but despite this full match can be played here. The highest temperature may be recorded around 31 degree celsius while the lowest will be around 27 degree celsius. Humidity will be very high and is close to 80%.

Best 11 for the match between Namibia (NAM) and Scotland (SCO):

Matthew Cross, George Munsey, David Wiese, Michael Leask, Jan Frylinck, Gerald Erasmus, Christopher Sole, Mark Watt, Bernad Scholtz, Ruben Trumpelmann, Bradley Currie.
