MI’s pure dominance left RCB in awe

Mumbai Indians (MI) showed no mercy against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) on the weekend night. They outperformed Bangalore in every department and got the victory by 7 wickets. 

It was Mumbai’s 3rd victory in the WPL and claimed the top position again in the points table. However they lost their last match in which they were defeated by UPW by 7 wickets. Whereas Bangalore lost their two matches in a row. Their last defeat came against DC by 25 runs

Mumbai, after winning the toss, opted to bowl first. 

Royals batting just collapsed as they lost 5 wickets in just 71 runs. They lost the momentum at the start, due to which they scored their first 50 runs in 58 balls. Then Ellyse Perry (44 runs not out) and Georgia Wareham (27 runs) provided some stability to the team. Both of them 53 runs for the 6th wicket. 

Due to their fighting spirit, challengers put 131 runs on the board in 20 overs by losing 6 wickets. 

Skipper Nat Sciver-Brunt and Pooja Vastrakar claimed 2 wickets each. Saika Ishaque and Issy Wong got 1 wicket each. 

During the chase, opener Yastika Bhatia (31 runs) and Hayley Matthews (26 runs) provided a destructive start to the team. They put 45 runs in under 4 overs. Later on get supported by Amelia Kerr (40 runs not out) and chased down the target in just 15.1 overs and scored 133 runs by losing 3 wickets. 

Sophie Devine, Georgia Wareham and Shreyanka Patil got 1 wicket each.
