Delhi Capitals (DC) will play against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai. CSK is at 10th while DC is at the bottom in the points table.
Chennai is too close for the qualification of playoffs with 13 points in their credit till now and Delhi also shows their contest for the qualification after they came from a 5 match losses and now they won 4 matches in their last 5 matches and get 8 points to their credit.
Super Kings openers are playing like kings only. They are performing in almost every match. Devon Conway who is consistently providing runs at the top order has made 458 runs in 10 innings and is 4th in the list of orange caps. Ruturaj Gaikwad who started wearing the orange cap has made 384 runs in 10 innings. Both these players are one of the best opening combinations in this season.

After a great start to his batting show, David Warner gets a little bit slow down. In the last few matches he didn’t score much but still he is not looking out of track. Only thing that’s the matter of concern is his strike rate which needs to be improved. While Phil Salt started making runs for the team. His last innings against RCB, 87 runs in 45 balls shows his power hitting capacity.
Ajinkya Rahane is showing some great fireworks in his innings. He shows some great skill of batting with a heavy strike rate of 200+. He can bat in any position that is also the strength for the team. Ambati Rayudu is used as an impact player but he is not consistent with his batting and gets out early after facing a few balls. He needs to spend more time on the pitch. Since he is having great experience in the IPL, therefore he needs to spend more time on the ground. Shivam Dube, also fires from his bat and he fulfilled all the needs which the team required.
Mitchell Marsh who missed few games due to his marriage but after his return he shows great depth in his batting. His contribution is what the team needs. His destruction against any bowler is well known by everyone, especially against pacers. Rilee Rossouw helps the team to get a good score. He is also providing runs with a great strike rate.

MS Dhoni didn’t spend much time on the crease but whenever he came he started hitting the ball and carried his finishing role well. He got out once in this season only and had a strike rate of 200+. Ravindra Jadeja did not utilize his destruction well in this season, he also needs to step up with his destruction. Same thing applies with Moeen Ali also where he also was not able to score many runs. Ben Stokes who is fit enough to play the next game might come in place of Ali.
Axar Patel is the best finisher for the team. Despite coming lower down the order his batting skills put Capitals in a respectable position. He is the only consistent player from his team. He is continuously performing from the start. DC highly depends on the performance of Axar. Manish Pandey and Ripal Patel contribution to the team is much less than the other batters, they need to be more consistent with their hitting skills.
CSK’s bowling in the last game was seen in much better form than in the previous few games. All the bowlers bowled with good line and length and as result they got wickets easily. Tushar Despande leads the team in terms of wicket taking having 19 wickets in his pockets, but his economy needs to be better which is 10.33. Ravindra Jadeja despite failing in the batting performance his bowling spells are much better. He has taken 15 wickets till now this season. Matheesha Pathirana grabbed 3 crucial wickets for the team against MI with a superb economy of 3.75.
Ishant Sharma introduction to the team strengthens the pace department. Axar Patel here also shows some great bowling spells. His all round performance helps the team to restrict the opposition. Mitchell Marsh who is the leading wicket taker from his side took 2 wickets against RCB. Kuldeep Yadav’s constant performance is missing, but he might be dangerous in Chennai’s pitch.
