India (IND) Analysis:
The hosting nation is one of the favorites in this World Cup. Many of the ex-players all over the world predicted that India might be the champion in this tournament.
Rohit Sharma the Indian skipper starts off the innings for his team. He is looking in great touch just a little thing worries here that he was unable to convert his innings into a big one. Shubman Gill, the other opener is currently the best batsmen in the world, having scored with more than 70 averages and is highly dangerous in the Indian pitches. He started the innings a little slow but after settling down he played the shots all around the ground. But he might not be available for the match as he was diagnosed with dengue.
The number 3 batter whom the bowlers didn’t want to face is Virat Kohli. Kohli is getting his rhythm back and has hit 5 centuries already this year. Everyone knows if he settles down then he can score runs easily. Also he is master in converting the 1’s and 2’s and 2’s into 3’s. Ishan Kishan is looking in great form as he played some good innings in the recent series against West Indies where he was Man of the Series and also in the Asia Cup.
Fourth position still remains in suspense as both Shreyas Iyer and Suryakumar Yadav are looking in tremendous form. Iyer already hit a century in the recent Australia series whereas Surya showed destructive batting approach in the first 2 ODIs against Aussies and scored back to back half centuries. KL Rahul returned to the Indian squad after his knee surgery in the Asia Cup and announced his presence in the very first match he played against Pakistan with a century. He will be seen wearing the gloves behind the stumps and is looking in tremendous form.
Hardik Pandya is a super finisher for the team and can accelerate the innings in the death overs. He can bat in any situation and always shows healthy runs with the bat. Not only this his wicket taking ability in difficult situations is also to make him placed into the squad. Ravindra Jadeja shows his power in bowling which the batsman finds hard to face. He is that kind of bowler who can in any pitch situation doesn’t need any turning track to bowl. The only thing that worries him is his low score with the bat as he is already known for some iconic innings but still he needs to cope up with the bat.
Ravichandran Ashwin was introduced to the squad after Axar Patel was out who had injury during the Asia Cup. he played against the Aussies in the recent series where he showed his experience in the bowling department and took 4 wickets in 2 matches. Also known for his batting who can bat lower down the order well. Kuldeep Yadav the chinaman is now a threat to the batters as he became more and more dangerous with his spin and also the Man of the Series in the Asia Cup.
Shardul Thakur can show some destruction with the bat in the lower order and also has the ability to take wickets in middle overs. Jasprit Bumrah also made his comeback very well. Looking more accurate and aggressive with his line and length. Mohammad Siraj is presently the world number 1 bowler in the ODIs and has taken most wickets within 10 overs since 2021. Marnus Labuschangne was introduced to the team at the last moment as Ashton Agar was out due to the injury. But his inclusion definitely helped the team as he looked in top gear and scored runs with a good pace. Josh Inglis is a new addition to the team and is used as an extra keeper batter for the team.
Cameron Green is a flexible player. He can open for the team and can bat at the lower order. A highly destructive player who can accelerate any time especially in the death overs. He played for Mumbai Indians (MI) in the IPL where he showed his fierceful batting. Travis Head who plays test like T20, a highly destructive batsman who can damage the opposition bowling lineup anytime.
Glenn Maxwell, pure hard hitter, a highly valuable player in the middle overs. He can assist with his spin bowling in absence of Agar. Also he took 4 wickets against India in the last ODI. Alex Carey will be wearing gloves and will be seen behind the stumps. He can bat well but recent performance with the bat is not so good. Marcus Stoinis giant with his shots and a pure destroyer of bowlers. He has the ability to accelerate the innings anytime he wants and also can assist the team with his bowling.
