Who can change the fortune that’s MI for you. After 2 back to back losses MI makes a hat trick of wins. Incredible captainship by Rohit, who always backs the team as well as providing belief to his players.
Rohit and Ishan started the innings with a full powerful show. These two are scoring at a much higher pace than any other openers in the IPL except Jos Butler and Yashasvi Jaisawal. Cameron Green who was promoted up in the order in the last game shows his hard hitting skills. He scored 64 runs in just 40 balls. Tilak Varma, the young talent who performs in each MI game is really a blessing to his team.
Piyush Chawla shows his experience and taking wickets in each game he played for this season. Arjun Tendulkar gets his first wicket against SRH. He is showing good bowling skills in the opening and death overs. Behrendorff and Meredith provided wickets in regular intervals.
PUNJAB KINGS (PBKS) Analysis:

PBKS started their season with back to back wins but in the last four games they only won one. Shikhar Dhawan’s absence shows PBKS in a little bit of trouble.
It is still not sure that Dhawan will play or not against MI. He is the leading run scorer from his side and contributes in each match he plays. Taide came as a replacement for him but he still can’t provide much. Prabhsimran is trying some upper hand in batting but he also doesn’t get the support from the non-strike end. Livingstone joined the team but he was out cheaply. Sam Curran bat is in silence and the team needs his bat to sound as early as possible. Jitesh Sharma also tries some big shots at the end but it was already too late.
Arshdeep started picking up the wickets and he is slowly getting his line and length at the right place. Rahul Chahar also contributed to the team with his economical spell and wicket taking ability. Sam Curran in bowling also couldnt contribute much. Rabada might be considered against MI as his record against Rohit and Ishan is pretty good.
HEAD TO HEAD (MI vs PBKS):
They played 29 matches against each other.
MI | PBKS | |
WON | 15 | 14 |
HIGHEST SCORE | 223 | 230 |
LOWEST SCORE | 87 | 119 |
Pitch Report:
The match will be played at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai. From the last few years it clearly shows that the team batting second won most of the matches. Therefore, chasing the score captain might be preferable.
