Delhi Capitals (DC) will host against Mumbai Indians (MI) at Arun Jaitley Stadium, New Delhi.
DC is standing at last in the points table whereas MI is standing at 9th in the points table.
DELHI CAPITALS (DC) Analysis:
Three losses in a row which does not want any team or franchise to go through. Warner is still figuring out the proper team lineup. Their head coach Ricky Ponting already said that “the team must be soul searching as a group and talk about it”. Khaleel Ahmed was injured in the last game and it is still uncertain whether he will play next game or not.
Except David Warner none of the DC batsmen shows intent to stick to the ground. Warner is scoring but with a low strike rate since he doesn’t get any support from the other end. In their last game against RR only Warner and Lalit Yadav fought for the run. Warner scored 65 runs in 55 balls and Yadav scored 38 runs in 24 balls. Mitchell Marsh is still unavailable as he is in Australia for his wedding.
All the DC bowlers were expensive against RR. Axar Patel’s performance in this IPL still awaits. Mukesh, Kuldeep and Powell got some wickets but they could not stop RR to score 199/4. They lost the match by a margin of 57 runs. Due to the injury of Khaleel, Chetan Sakariya might be in playing 11.
MUMBAI INDIANS (MI) Analysis:
Like Delhi, Mumbai is also in search of their first win in TATA IPL 2023. They lost both of their matches against RCB and CSK. Rohit Sharma said that the experienced players should perform as early as possible and he has to start with this. Bumrah’s injury might be troubling MI as their death over specialist is not with them.
Only Tilak Varma showed some intent in their 1st match against RCB. Some big hits from Rohit, Ishan, Suryakumar, Green are still waiting. In their last match MI started well but Rohit got bowled in the 4th over. And then wickets fell. At one time MI was 113/7 but Tim David managed to score 31 runs in 22 balls due to which MI posted a decent score of 157/8.
The bowling unit could not do much as Rahane’s ravishing innings of 61 runs in 27 balls took away the match easily and CSK won the match by 7 wickets. Only Piyush, Jason and Kartikeya take 1 wicket each and only rest bowlers remain wicketless.
HEAD TO HEAD (DC vs MI):
They played 32 matches against each other.
