Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) got eliminated from the Playoffs race despite registering a win against Mumbai Indians by 18 runs. Lucknow now have 14 points but due to the poor net run rate (-0.667) they failed to reach the next round.
Super Giants scored 214/6 in 20 overs and in reply Mumbai scored 196/6 in 20 overs.
In their previous encounter, a little low scoring match was seen where Lucknow got the upper hand after defeating Mumbai by 4 wickets.

Skipper KL Rahul played a brilliant knock after scoring 55 runs in 41 balls. He stood there like a wall till the 17th over and hit 3 fours and 3 sixes. But it was Nicholas Pooran who showed thunderous shots with the bat. He scored his season best after scoring 75 runs in just 29 balls. With a strike rate of 258.62, he hit 5 fours and 8 huge sixes.
Towards the end Ayush Badoni’s unbeaten 22 runs guided the team above 200.

In the chase, Rohit Sharma gave the team a destructive start. He scored 68 runs in just 38 balls in which he hit 10 fours and 3 sixes. His strike rate was 178.95. The first wicket fell at 88 runs but suddenly the team lost 5 wickets at the score of 120 runs.
Naman Dhir showed some power hitting towards the end as he got unbeaten at 62 runs in 28 balls. He hit 4 fours and 5 sixes in his knock with a strike rate of 221.43.
Ravi Bishnoi and Naveen-ul-Haq got 2 wickets each. Krunal Pandya and Mohsin Khan got 1 wicket each.
