Jay Shah drops a major update on Pant’s T20 fate

Indian wicket-keeper batsman, Rishabh Pant, who is out from the cricket after his road-accident on December 30th, 2022. He is most likely to make his return from the IPL.

After the IPL, the T20 World Cup will be held as it is going to take place on June 2nd, 2024. Now a huge discussions are going about the presence of Pant in the upcoming World Cup, to this BCCI secretary, Jay Shah, gives a bold statement for his return to the national side, 

“He is batting well and keeping well. We will declare him fit very soon. If he can play the T20 World Cup for us, that will be a big thing for us. He is a big asset for us. If he can keep, he can play in the World Cup.”

Recently he was declared fit by the NCA (National Cricket Academy). Now as a result it is sure that he will make his comeback in the World’s richest league. But it is still not sure that he will take the gloves behind the stumps or not. 

Delhi Capitals head coach and former Australia’s most successful captain, Ricky Ponting already revealed that if Pant will not be fully fit then they will use him in a different role. He said,

“It’s a big decision we will have to make because if he is fit, you would think he would step back into that captaincy role. If he is not entirely fit and we have to use him in a slightly different role, then we have got some decisions to make there.”
