Teams Analysis

India (IND):

They topped Group A with 7 points having won all three matches and the last one was called off due to rain. They are showing consistency in both the departments but their bowling has been much more disciplined as compared to that of their batting.

In their batting unit, keeper Rishabh Pant is leading the way for the team as most runs scorer with 96 runs to his credit. His best came against Pakistan where he scored 42 runs with the bat and has a strike rate of 124.68 till now in the tournament.

Skipper Rohit Sharma started the season with a brilliant half-century against Ireland after scoring 52 runs there, but in the next two matches he managed only 13 & 3. He is known for hard hitting from the start. On the other hand, Virat Kohli hasn’t looked great till now with scores like 1, 4 & 0. But the pitch was too bad to perform better there and now he might again show his dangerous side in the Caribbean grounds.

Suryakumar Yadav and Shivam Dube both played match winning knocks against USA and took the team to victory. Earlier both of them struggled to get some scores on the board. Surya got a brilliant hard fighting half-century and scored 51 runs while Dube managed 31 runs not out.

Arshdeep Singh and Hardik Pandya took charge in the bowling department after grabbing 7 wickets to their name. Arshdeep has an economy of 6.5 whereas Hardik has 5.42 economy. Jasprit Bumrah continues his death pace to the opposition  and has the economy of 4.09, which is the best among the players in the team and has grabbed 5 wickets till now.

Despite this their batting and bowling both have been brilliant this season, which ultimately took them to the Super 8.

In their batting unit, Rahmanullah Gurbaz is currently the leading runs scorer in this season with 167 runs to his credit. He scored 2 half-centuries till now and has a strike rate of 150.45. But in the last two matches he got 11 & 0, so he needs to put much better effort in the upcoming matches.

His partner Ibrahim Zadran has scored 152 runs till now and scored a brilliant half-century against Uganda where he scored 70 runs with the bat. His strike rate is 124.59. The all-rounders Gulbadin Naib, Azmatulllah Omarzai and Mohammad Nabi have performed decently till now. The match will be played at Kensington Oval, Bridgetown, Barbados. 58m and 67m square boundaries, the straight hit is at 72m. A fresh pitch today, but it’s very similar to the other pitches, there are cracks at both ends. The average score in the 1st innings is 143, you can add another 10-15 runs considering the teams featuring today, but this ain’t a 180-190 run wicket. Despite this a high scoring match might be seen.
