Recently Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) requested International Cricket Council (ICC) and Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) for changing the venue from Ahmedabad to Chennai or Bengaluru during the 2023 world cup. But both of them dismissed the request.
According to the reports of Cricbuzz, it stated that the PCB wanted to play in Chennai against Afghanistan and in Bengaluru against Australia and they wanted to change the venue against India at Ahmedabad also. But ICC and BCCI both refused the idea for changing the venue as it can only happen during any security issues or if the ground is not suitable for hosting an international match.
Draft schedule for the ICC 2023 Cricket World Cup was released by ICC. The final schedule is yet to be released.
Najam Sethi, Former PCB chairman, also wanted to shift the Ahmedabad venue to another venue for security reasons but this was also rejected.
