Gujarat Titans (GT) wicket-keeper batsman Mathew Wade will miss the first match against Mumbai Indians (MI) which will be played on March 24th.
He will be playing for Tasmania in the Sheffield Shield final which will be from March 21-25, so as a result he will miss the opening match of the team against Mumbai. On the other hand, Gujarat will play their 2nd match against Chennai Super KIngs (CSK), which will be on March 26th, so it will also be a tight situation for Wade.
The head coach of Tasmania said, “He’s spoken with his IPL franchise and they’re happy to allow him to stay here, which probably equates to him potentially missing their first game. We feel very fortunate to have someone of Matt’s ilk coming back into our group, and his experience and his performances at the back end of our season.”
Gujarat will play 5 matches in the TATA IPL 2024 according to the partial announcement of the schedule. The remaining schedule will be revealed once the exact dates of the general elections will be known.
Shubman Gill will lead the team as Hardik Pandya was traded to Mumbai and became the leader of the men in blue.
