BCCI is showing no mercy to their newly introduced rules which says “discipline, unity and a positive team environment” between the players and management.
In their 10 points diktat, there was a point where it was written that no personal assistant of the players and staff of the will travel and live in the same hotel along with them. During the India-England series, India’s head coach Gautam Gambhir was seen in the same hotel along with his PA.
As per the report in PTI, “The personal secretary of a member of the coaching staff, who was regularly seen staying at the team hotel, now stays at a different facility even though he has been seen at every venue during the England home series.”
Although the reports didn’t claim about Gambhir but the other coaching staff didn’t have any personal assistant due to which it can be clearly assumed that it is being said for the Indian head coach.
One of the BCCI officials looked angry over this instance and said, “Why was his PA sitting in the car specified for national selectors? They can’t even discuss things in private with an unknown third person in the car. Why was he allotted space in the BCCI’s hospitality box in Adelaide?”
The official member also added that how the PA of Gambhir’s was seen in the hotel where only players and staff have to be there, “How did he have breakfast in the cordoned-off area of a five-star facility that is just earmarked for the team members?”
Now in the Champions Trophy the rules will be followed strictly and if there will be any disobey of the rules then there might be some harsh punishment taken from the board.
The ICC tournament will kickstart from February 19 and India will play their first match against Bangladesh on February 20.
