Teams Analysis

England (ENG):

They showed strong domination in their last match which was against West Indies. A motivating start by them in the first match of their in the Super 8. Despite this their batting has looked better throughout the season till now but their bowling needs to be little better. Only against the weaker teams, booling looked in little bit of control otherwise it was leaking runs easily.

Phil Salt once again proved why he is the best player from his team in this format in the last match. He got a brilliant half-century and took his team to a great victory. Till now he managed 147 runs and had a strike rate of 181.48 averages close to 50. His partner and skipper Jos Buttler got some great starts but was unable to take that to much longer. He managed 91 runs with a strike rate of 146.77.

Jonny Bairstow in the middle provides some solidity with his knocks and slowly he is getting back his rhythm. He got 94 runs with the bat and best was against West Indies in the last match where he scored unbeaten 48 runs.

Allrounders Moeen Ali and Liam Livingstone performed decently till now. Both the players grabbed 2 wickets each while with the bat Moeen got 54 runs whereas Livingstone got 28 runs.

In the bowling department, they are working decently but need to do more in this department as they choked a little in the death overs. Jofra Archer and Adil Rashid both got 6 wickets each in this season till now. Archer has a brilliant economy which is 6.59 while Rashid being little expensive as his economy is 8.

Mark Wood got 3 wickets till now but has been mostly expensive with his spells as his economy touches close to 8.5.

Probable Playing 11 of England (ENG):

Jos Buttler (c & wk), Phil Salt, Moeen Ali, Jonny Bairstow, Harry Brook, Liam Livingstone, Sam Curran, Jofra Archer, Adil Rashid, Mark Wood, Reece Topley.

South Africa (SA):

The Proteas also started their Super 8 round with a close victory over USA. For the first time in this season, they looked solid with the batting performance. Despite this their domination is still missing as they won all their matches by close margins.

Quinton de Kock after struggling with the bat in the pitches of USA, showed his hard hitting skills in the Caribbean pitch and got a brilliant 74 runs knock. He currently managed 122 runs and has a strike rate of 137.08. His partner Reeza Hendricks struggling with the bat continues as he only managed 61 runs in 5 matches and has a strike rate of 83.56.

Skipper Aiden Markram might be relieved after his 46 runs knock against West Indies in the last match. He consistently failed to put scores on the board, which definitely put pressure on him and this knock will definitely boost him to score better in upcoming matches.

Hard hitters Heinrich Klaasen and David Miller have scored 108 and 101 runs respectively. Both of them have the capacity to go big in the death overs and are a real threat to the bowlers.

In the bowling department, Anrich Nortje is their leading wicket-taker with 10 wickets to his name. He is currently equalling the most wickets taken by a South African bowler, which is 30 (equal to Dale Steyn). Kagiso Rabada also supported him well in the pace department as he got 7 wickets till now. His best came against USA in the last match where he grabbed 3 wickets after conceding only 18 runs.

Keshav Maharaj is leading the team in the spin department with 6 wickets to his name with an economy of 6.06.

Probable Playing 11 of South Africa (SA):

Aiden Markram ©, Quinton de Kock (wk), Reeza Hendricks, David Miller, Heinrich Klaasen, Tristan Stubbs, Marco Jansen, Keshav Maharaj, Kagiso Rabada, Tabraiz Shamsi, Anrich Nortje.

Pitch Report for the match between England (ENG) and South Africa (SA):

The match will be played at Daren Sammy National Cricket Stadium, Gros Islet, St Lucia. It is a good surface to bat, there are a few scratch marks. It is very hard with not too much live grass. There will be some extra bounce, but very true bounce so batters can cut, pull and drive more easily. There will be some short boundaries which batters might target well and score huge. Therefore chasing might be a better option here after winning the toss.

Weather Report:

The weather is expected to be sunny most of the time. There is still a bit of a chance of rain which is close to 20% but that might not affect the match much. Humidity will be close to 70%. The highest temperature may be 32 degree celsius while the lowest may be 27 degree celsius on the match day.
