England provisional squad for the 2023 World Cup announced

England announced their 15 member squad for the World Cup. Jos Butler will take the charge of the team.

One of the key batter for the English team Harry Brook was not included into the team and also their star pacer Jofra Archer missing out from the squad.

The Star all-rounder Ben Stokes also included into the squad as Stokes joins the team ahead of the World Cup for the New Zealand series and reverses his decision for retirement in the ODIs.

England chief selector Luke Wright said, “This is the squad we are going to put forward. It’s incredibly hard on some players that are going to miss out. It shows the strength and depth we have in English Cricket and there are some other names who are knocking on the door as well. With the balance of the squad, and with only fifteen that you can name it’s incredibly tough.

The return of Ben Stokes only adds to that quality with his match winning ability and leadership. I am certain that every fan will enjoy seeing him back in an England ODI shirt again.”

Teams can change till 28th September, after this date the squad will be fixed and they can’t change the squad.

England will play the inaugural World Cup match against New Zealand on 5th October in Ahmedabad.
