The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) President Roger Binny and Vice-President Rajiv Shukla will go to Pakistan in the 1st week of September.
Approx more than a decade after any official last visit to Pakistan. For the Asia Cup, the hosting country invited all the associated members of the respective Asian countries who will play in the Asia Cup. India finally gave their permission for their presence. Dinner will be done at Lahore. The President and Vice-President might also enjoy some matches during the stay.
Earlier Jay Shah, secretary of BCCI was invited to attend the opening match of the Asia Cup but he declined. Also the whole tournament was previously meant to happen at Pakistan but India strongly refused to go there due to security reasons and it was on the verge of cancellation. But all the members of the Asian countries met and it was finally decided that 4 matches will be played in Pakistan while the rest 13 matches will be played at Sri Lanka including the Final.
“BCCI President Binny and Vice President Shukla will be going to Pakistan to watch a few games. PCB has invited BCCI and as one of the key members of ACC, Binny and Shukla will be travelling to Pakistan” according to The Indian Express whom a BCCI official confirmed.
