One of the Bangladesh main front line bowlers Ebadot Hossain ruled out from the Asia Cup (AC) due to injury. He was replaced by Tanzim Hasan who appeared for the first time in the list of International Cricket.
Hossain got injured during the series against Afghanistan. He was included in the squad for the tournament but he couldn’t recover from the rehab programme. Management and physio wants full recovery of him so that he will be available before the World Cup.
Tanzim Hasan showed great performance in the Emerging Men’s AC and also had pretty good stats in List A career where he took 57 wickets in 37 matches.
Dr Debashish Chowdhury, Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) chief sports physician says,
“Ebadot has undergone six weeks of rehab following the injury. We have had multiple MRIs done during this time and the reports suggest that his ACL (Anterior Cruciate Ligament) is still a concern and requires further management. Therefore he missed out on the Asia Cup. Considering the importance of the Bangladesh team’s next major event, which is the ICC World Cup in October.
The BCB is committed to exploring every safe medical option available for getting Ebadot back to full fitness and playing as early as possible, including consultation and treatment overseas.”
