Australia announced their squad for the World Cup 23

Australia announced their 18 member squad for the World Cup. Some new players came into the limelight in the squad. Aaron Hardie and Tanveer Sangha are the two new players included in the team.

One of the most shocking announcements was that there was no name of Marnus Labuschagne. He is one of the most consistent players in the world.

Pat Cummins will lead the Kangaroos team. But a slight problem, during the Ashes series his wrist got fractured and it needs almost six weeks to be cured. Hopefully he can play the World Cup matches from the start. Australia will face India in their 1st World Cup match on 8th October at Chennai.

George Bailey, Former Australian Captain and present Chief selector of the team says, “we view a period of enforced rest for Pat as a positive ahead of this important World Cup campaign. There are still a number of games he could play before the World Cup which is more than enough for him to have a strong preparation. This side has been extremely impressive for several years in limited overs cricket. There is an enormous amount of skill and experience in the group, which you need in a World Cup.”
