Asia Cup 2023 final Venue might be shifted

The final of Asia Cup will be played at Colombo, not only this the venue will be hosting the 5 of the 6 matches in the Super four round, but due to bad weather conditions and raining it is expected that the venue might be shifted.

As the weather conditions in Sri Lanka are not good nowadays and also it is not the monsoon period in Sri Lanka but their uneven raining may spoil further games in the Asia Cup

Due to unfortunate rain spoils India-Pakistan Asia Cup match and they don’t want any further natural calamities to damage the match atmosphere. India will also meet Nepal on Monday and the weather is again expected to be not that good and heavy showers can again be seen.

Two different venues are suggested for the Super Four and the final. Dambulla is the dry zone of Sri Lanka but India dont like to play there as there are not proper facilities of a hotel available. Also Sri Lankan officials also said that there is fixing of flood lights going on but might take little more time. Hambantota is another location suggested but there also exists a problem of not having proper close by accommodation but might put some problems related to traveling.

Pakistan is the hosting nation but India already refused to go there to play any matches, therefore Pakistan will also not be able to host any further remaining matches including the final.

Finally the Sri Lanka and Pakistan cricket board officials have to decide the final decision related to this and the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) will also have to take the decision along with them.
