Gambhir vs. Morkel: rift sparks controversy

The time of Indian head coach Gautam Gambhir didn’t seem to get well after joining the position of the coach. Now a new controversy arises as there was a rift between Gambhir and the bowling coach Morne Morkel.

According to reports from Times of India, it is said that the Indian head coach is pretty disciplined with the players and the management. During the Border-Gavaskar trophy, Morkel attended the practise session little late due to some personal reasons, which upsets Gautam and he immediately took hard steps against him.

Due to this incident the bowling coach was seen as little reserved in the remaining tour.

Men in Blue lost the Border-Gavaskar trophy, 3-1, due to which they were unable to mark their place in the final of WTC. Earlier they were clean sweeped from Kiwis, 3-0, in their own homeground.

After such drastic performances in the past, the team’s coaching staff is under the radar of scrutiny. Batting coach, Abhishek Nayar, under whom the batting has taken a huge dip as it was seen in the past few months. While the role of Ryan ten Doeschate has been discussed at the meeting which took place recently. As Doeschate carries less international experience which might create an impact on the loss of matches.

In that recent meeting it has been also said that Gambhir has been extended till 2025 Champions Trophy and if the result didn’t come positive then BCCI will look into the matter.

India is yet to announce their squad for the upcoming ICC tournament and the team is placed in Group A along with Pakistan, Bangladesh and New Zealand.
