Lucknow SuperGiants (LSG) finally after two back to back losses got a victory which came against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) by 8 wickets.
Super Kings scored 176/6 in 20 overs and in reply Super Giants got 180/2 in 19 overs.
Chennai got victory in their last match as they failed Rohit’s century in the chasing cause while Lucknow looked helpless against the rampage created by Kolkata in their last encounter.
After winning the toss, Lucknow goes for bowling.
Ravindra Jadeja’s promotion helped the team as he registered his first half-century in this season after scoring unbeaten 57 runs. In his 40 ball knock he hit 5 fours and a six. Ajinkya Rahane also got a healthy start as he scored 36 runs in 25 balls.
But it was MS Dhoni’s innings that took the team score to 176. In his destructive batting, he scored 28 runs in just 9 balls and hit 3 fours and 2 sixes and got not out at the end.
Krunal Pandya was fantastic with his bowling as he got 2 wickets in his 3 overs and gave just 16 runs. Mohsin Khan, Yash Thakur, Ravi Bishnoi and Marcus Stoinis got 1 wicket each.
Super Giants got the perfect start as they posted 134 runs for the first wicket. Quinton de Kock after some low scores got his rhythm back and scored 54 runs in 43 balls and hit 5 fours and a six. Then finally KL Rahul scored a half-century as in the last few innings he got a good start but was unable to convert that into a 50+ score. He scored 82 runs in 53 balls which includes 9 fours and 3 sixes.
In the end, Nicholas Pooran hard hitting grab the victory for the team. He scored unbeaten 23 runs in 12 balls.
Mustafizur Rahman and Matheesha Pathirana got 1 wicket each.
