Match 6: RCB vs PBKS | Full Analysis | Pitch Report | Best 11

The 6th match of the tournament between Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Punjab Kings (PBKS). It will get started at 7:30 P.M. (IST).

Teams Analysis:

Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB):

One of the most destructive batting lineups in the IPL. They can set huge targets and can achieve large targets. The only thing which needs to be little is their bowling lineup in which they were seen lacking most of the times. In their first match against CSK, they lost it by 6 wickets

Looking at their opening pair Faf du Plessis had an excellent record against Punjab as he scored 6 half-centuries in the last 10 matches against them. Therefore he must again be a show stopper for this match. On the other hand, Virat Kohli needs no introduction. He started the innings a little slow but after setting down the pitch, he became more and more aggressive.

Glenn Maxwell is a pure form of destruction. From the very first ball he started showing his power and within a few overs he could turn things up for the team. Not only this he can contribute well in the bowling department also, as he is currently consistent in the wicket-taking process. Another Aussies Cameron Green, though failed to show his batting performance in the first match but still he has the capacity to end up the innings in a beast  mode.

Anuj Rawat missed his half-century in the first match against CSK but his 48 runs knock took the team to a respectable total in the end. His firing power can again help the team in the death overs. Dinesh Karthik who had a miserable last season, has come up with a 38 runs knock in the first match and has shown again his great batting skills in the death overs.

Looking at their bowling unit, Mohammad Siraj carries the huge pressure of the team as he is the most experienced among the bowlers in the team. In the first match he was wicket-less and exceeded 38 runs in 4 overs. Alzarri Joseph and Yash Dayal the other pacers needed to assist him in the initial and last overs.

Probable playing 11 for the match:

Faf du Plessis ©, Virat Kohli, Glenn Maxwell, Rajat Patidar, Cameron Green, Anuj Rawat (wk), Dinesh Karthik, Karn Sharma, Alzarri Joseph, Mohammad Siraj, Mayank Dagar.

(Substitution: Yash Dayal for Rajat Patidar).

Punjab Kings (PBKS):

Started their journey with a close finish against DC by 4 wickets. Thanks to England players Sam Curran and Liam Livinsgtone who got the nerves of Delhi in the last few overs.

The skipper Shikhar Dhawan has a tendency to score big runs with the bat. Also he loves to bat in the pacer friendly pitches, therefore he might catch all the limelights of the match. Jonny Bairstow is yet to deliver big for Punjab as he had drastic last season and in the first match also he got out early.

Sam Curran who was in tremendous form when played for CSK but lost the touch in the last season when he was bought by Punjab in the last season by a whooping amount of 18+ crores. But in the first match against Delhi he showed his form with the bat and played a match winning innings.

Liam Livinsgtone was the one who remained till the finishing touch and continued his destructive form. Prabsimran in the last season, when he opened for PBKS, was highly successful but he is flexible to play in any position. The keeper Jitesh Sharma is a beast in the death overs.

In the bowling unit, Arshdeep Singh is highly successful among the bowlers in the team. In the first he showed this form and got 2 wickets. Kagiso Rabada carries a huge experience in this format but was sometimes expensive in his spells. Harshal Patel plays for RCB before joining Punjab and has a splendid journey there. But in Chinnawany he didn’t have any memorable experience; he concedes too many runs in this pitch.

Rahul Chahar and Harpreet Brar are the main spinners in the team. But due to the short boundaries, spinners are treated badly by the batsman. Therefore it is expected that only one spinner might be available in the playing 11.

Probably playing 11 for the Match:

Shikhar Dhawan(c), Jonny Bairstow, Prabhsimran Singh, Sam Curran, Jitesh Sharma (wk), Liam Livingstone, Shashank Singh, Harshal Patel, Harpeet Brar, Kagiso Rabada, Arshdeep Singh.

(Substitution: Rilee Rossouw for Kagiso Rabada).

Head to Head (RCB vs PBKS):

They played 31 matches against each other.

Pitch Report:

The match will be played at M Chinnaswamy stadium, Bengaluru. Here as experienced from the previous matches it is highly favourbale for batsmen and the short boundaries helped batters more. Pacers have more profit than the spinners. Therefore chasing teams has a little advantage than batting first.

The weather will be clear and sunny throughout the day. The humidity will be less than 30% and the wind will be moving with less speed. Temperature might go up by 34 degree celsius and might drop down to 22 degree celsius.

Best 11 for the Match:
