KL Rahul and Shreyas back into the Indian squad as the team announced for the 2023 Asia Cup.
Rohit Sharma will be leading the side while Hardik Pandya will be his deputy. Tilak Varma will make debut in the 50 over format. His brilliant performance in the West Indies and also show some great knocks in IPL made him get placed into the squad. Jasprit Bumrah who recently made his comeback during Ireland series will be again showing his skills in the 50 overs format.
Yuzvendra Chahal couldn’t make it into the 17 members. India goes with three spinners – Kuldeep Yadav, Axar Patel and Ravindra Jadeja. Prasidh Krishna also makes his name into the list along with other pacers – Mohd Shami, Mohd Siraj and Shardul Thakur.
Sanju Samson will be the reserved player during the tournament.
Rohit Sharma worries about the number 4 spot in the team as Shreyas Iyer played well in that spot but due to the unavailability of him due to injury worries Sharma pretty much. Now since he is available it will be a bit of relief to the Indian skipper. KL Rahul also will join the team after he was ruled out due to injury during the IPL. He can be seen wearing the gloves behind the stumps. Also Ishan Kishan was the other keeper batsman who joined the squad.
