Boult and Jamieson returned to the New Zealand squad after 1 year

New Zealand two fast pacers, Trent Boult and Kyle Jamieson are back into the New Zealand squad against England.

Both the fast bowlers played their last match more than one year ago. Jamieson was injured and Boult was released from the New Zealand central contract last year in August. Now they both included since the World Cup is just less than 2 months left and their inclusion directly reflects that they might be included in the World Cup squad.

Tom Latham will be seen again as a New Zealand Captain, since Kane Williamson was injured during the IPL match and he is in recovery stage and might be seen in the World Cup. Tim Southee will be leading in the T20 format.

Mark Chapman and all rounder James Neesham remain unavailable due to the birth of their children while Ish Sodhi will play the T20 matches against England but will be back to his home during the ODIs due to personal reasons. Also the all rounder Micheal Bracewell will remain absent since he is also recovering from his Achilles injury. Neesham will join the team in T20.

New Zealand head coach Gary Stead said about England, “England has been an impressive white ball side for quite some time and we are excited to be taking them on at home on the eve of the World Cup. We’ve obviously had a history of great games against them and I’m sure the four matches will provide all the usual drama and excitement. It should be a really competitive series and I know the group will be looking forward to returning to play at the likes of the Oval and Lord’s once again.”

Regarding Boult and Jamieson he added, “We are delighted to include Kyle in this squad alongside his earlier selection for the T20 squads to play the UAE and England. He’s been working extremely hard on his rehabilitation following back surgery and we’re looking forward to seeing him back playing on the international stage. It’s also great to welcome Trent back into our ODI unit as he begins his preparation towards the World Cup in India.”
