Due to rain, Australia couldn’t finish off the things. Aussies were looking pretty good in their 2nd innings and they scored 135 runs without any loss of wicket. England finished with 395/10 in their 2nd innings and set the target of 384 runs. Now the equation for the 5th day is simple, 98 overs will be bowled in which Australia need 249 more runs and England need 10 wickets to win the 5th test. Aussies are already leading the Ashes series by 2-1.
All the Australian players give the Guard of Honour to Stuart Broad who is playing his last international match. The man with 600 wickets in Test and a huge contribution to the English team.
England just added 6 more runs to their day 3 score and got all out. Broad hits a six to Starc and the crowd cheered that shot pretty much. In the next over, Murphy took the wicket of Anderson and the innings got over. Anderson made 8 runs. (395-10).
Murphy and Starc both get 4 wickets each while Hazelwood and Cummins settle with 1 wicket each.
Australian openers gave a very good start to the team. Warner and Khawaja both the left handers started slowly and slowly they made runs without taking any risks. Warner is batting at 58 runs and Khawaja is at 69 runs. They made 135 runs for the 1st wicket till now. After that the rain came and the match stopped and never started again on day 4.
Now hoping the weather will be clear on day 5 so that the result will come.
