The World Cup schedule has been announced and the encounter between India and Pakistan will be played on 15th October according to schedule. But recently, in the Indian Express a top official from BCCI reveals that the match might be shifted to another date. On 15th October, famous Gujarati festival garba will happen and lots of people of Gujarat celebrate this festival of Navratri very well.
The official tells Indian Express, “We are mulling the options that we have and a decision will be taken soon. We have been told by the security agencies that a high profile game like India vs Pakistan for which thousands of traveling fans are expected to reach Ahmedabad should be avoided since they will be stretched because of Navratri.”
It was already highlighted that the hotels in Ahmedabad and also the major cities in India are already booked and the fares of the hotels are going very high. Therefore if the match is cancelled then a huge loss will have to be borne upon the companies. Also some of the places were showing that the hospital beds were also booked during the matches.
Jay Shah, BCCI secretary, wrote a letter to all the associations hosting the World Cup matches to attend the meeting in New Delhi on 27th July.
