ICC announces the equal payment for both the men and women in the upcoming world cups which also includes the Under-19 world cup. Not only the winner but also the runner-up, the semi’s team also in men and women and so on will also get the equal amount of money. It was declared during an annual conference in Durban. It has been initiated from this year’s WTC cycle, which starts from the Ashes starting from 16th June.
During the conference ICC chairman Greg Barclay said,
ICC also decreases the fines of over rate from 100% to 50% max. The fine imposed on the players will vary from 5% to 50% decided by the ICC’s Chief Executive Committee (CEC). In the ICC website it says, “If a team is bowled out before the new ball is due at 80 overs, there will be no over-rate penalty applied even if there is a slow over-rate. This replaces the current 60 over threshold.”
Sourav Ganguly, chairman of Men’s Cricket Committee said,
