Match 54: RCB vs MI| Match Preview| Best 11| Pitch Report.

Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) will meet Mumbai Indians (MI) at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai. RCB is standing at 6th in the points table while MI is standing at 8th in the points table.

Bangalore and Mumbai both had secured 10 points till now. RCB lost their last match against DC and MI lost their last match against CSK.

MI’s main problem is the low runs scored by captain Rohit Sharma. In his last 4 matches he scored only 5 runs. In the last match against CSK he dropped himself to 3rd position but there also he got out on zero. He needs to be more precise with his shot selection and everyone knows how dangerous he can be if he starts hitting the balls easily. Ishan Kishan plays well but he is not regular with the runs. He also needs to be more consistent with the bat.

Challengers looking no problem in the opening pair. Both of them contributed pretty well to the team. Virat Kohli and Faf du Plessis combination is one of the best pairs this season. Du Plessis is scoring runs over 50+ average this season and till now he has scored 511 runs. He is wearing an orange cap. Virat Kohli is also looking in great touch and made 419 runs and is 5th in the cap list.

Mumbai middle order is looking highly consistent. They are the ones who are scoring high runs. Cameron Green who opened the last match didn’t do much but in 3rd position he is absolutely a monster. Playing good shots and scoring a high amount of runs for the team. Nehal Wadhera against CSK contributed a useful 64 runs for the team. He adds his name to the middle order. Suryakumar Yadav also slowly got his rhythm back and placed the ball nicely.

Bangalore is also dependent upon the batting Of Glenn Maxwell but his inconsistency worries the team. When he starts hitting the ball then no one is able to stop him but in the last few matches his bat remains silent and he must again show his ruthless hitting. Mahipal Lomror, one more name added as “MAHI” shows his batting skill against DC and made 54 runs in just 29 balls. This innings by him, relieves the team as they get one more batter who can contribute besides their top 3.

Tim David is the perfect man for destruction. In Wankhede he loves to hit the ball outside the ground. Till now he has hit 21 sixes in this venue. He can easily boost up the score easily. Tristan Stubbs who was introduced in place of Tilak Varma who got injured, but now he might again be benched as Tilak is again fit enough to play. Varma also shows his hand towards the end of the overs and not only this he can play in any position which he already shows in earlier matches.

Royals finishers are not doing their job properly. Dinesh Karthik is consistently scoring poor runs. He didn’t score a half century till now and he needs to use his experience to put up some great runs for the team. Anuj Rawat also fails to score big runs. Kedar Jadhav might be introduced to the team to finish the game well and score a pretty amount of runs.

Piyush Chawla is the constant bowler who takes wickets for his team. His experience in IPL says it all. Till now he grabbed 17 wickets and many more to come for sure. He is placed 4th in the list of purple caps. But he didn’t get any proper support from the other end. Jofra Archer being expensive and went wicketless mostly, creates a problem for the team. As in Bumrah’s absence he is the leading fast bowler for the team but his performance creates problems for the team. Arshad Khan was seen as expensive in his spells against CSK.

RCB also struggles somehow with their bowling unit. Mohd Siraj is the leading wicket taker from his side. But in the last two matches he was pretty much expensive. Harshal Patel again gave away runs in his spells. Josh Hazelwood also looked expensive against DC. Wanindu Hasaranga team’s main spin bowler is looking a little out of touch in his line and length.  Here they all need to be a little bit tighter with their length. Siraj till now takes 15 wickets in his pocket.
