Chennai Openers are performing the best show in this season. Ruturaj Gaikwad and Devon Conway both are the best openers among the remaining teams in this IPL. Conway had scored 414 runs and Gaikwad scored 354 runs till now. Conway is at 3rd while Gaikwad is at 5th in the purple cap list. Mumbai openers Ishan Kishan is slowly performing well while Rohit Sharma struggles with his performance. Kishan who scored 75 runs in his last matches against PBKS shows his powerful hitting skills.

Cameron Green is performing consistently and scoring in almost most of the matches, especially his last few innings are too commendable. Suryakumar Yadav’s innings of 66 runs against PBKS with a heavy strike rate of 212.90 relieves the pressure from him of his inconsistency. Ajinkya Rahane, who thought that he can show destruction like this. His hard hitting we have seen him after such a long time. He plays freely under Dhoni. Shivam Dube also gets his rhythm back and scores like rocket firing.

MS Dhoni did not bat too much but when he came he just finished off well. His sixes at the end does not replicate his age. Jadeja also didn’t spend much time on the pitch but he also fires the balls and helps the team to get some good score on the board. Tilak Varma’s contribution towards the end is highly beneficial for Mumbai. He is one of the most consistent players in the team this season. Tim David also shows his destruction towards the end.

Mumbai is basically dependent on their batting department. Except Piyush Chawla none of the other bowlers are performing well. Chawla is the most successful bowler in the team having taken 15 wickets in 9 matches till now. He is 4th in the list of purple cap. Jofra Archer is highly expensive in his season. In his last match he gave 56 runs in 4 overs. Arshad Khan and Kumar Kartikeya also throw away runs easily.

Chennai also struggled with their bowling line up. Tushar Despande had taken 17 wickets till now but he is pretty much expensive in his spells. Presently he is 2nd in purple cap. Ravindra Jadeja is somehow providing economical spells and also taking some wickets. He grabbed 14 wickets till now. Both the Sri Lankans Maheesh Theekshana and Matheesha Pathirana did not get many wickets and they were providing runs easily.
