Ravichandran Ashwin who is presently playing in the series against Australia and has shown great bowling performance so far.
India already won the 3 match series by winning the first two matches. First match was won by 5 wickets while the 2nd ODI was won by 99 runs.
India is set to clash with Australia in their final 50-over encounter before the highly anticipated ICC World Cup. What makes this encounter even more exciting is the return of the dynamic duo, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, adding immense firepower to India’s lineup. Meanwhile, Ravichandran Ashwin, the off-spin maestro, has his sights set on securing a spot in the Indian roster for the World Cup.
Interestingly, Ravichandran had been left out of the previous WC squad, which did not include any off-spinners. However, his recent performance has been nothing short of exceptional. In the absence of spinner Axar Patel, Ashwin showcased his prowess by masterminding the downfall of Australia’s top-order batsmen during the crucial series decider in Indore. His brilliant bowling display earned him accolades and applause from cricket enthusiasts and experts alike.
With each wicket he takes and each match-winning performance, Ashwin’s case for inclusion in the upcoming ICC World Cup gets stronger. The competition for spots in the Indian squad is fierce, but Ravichandran’s recent heroics have undoubtedly bolstered his chances of representing his nation on the world stage once again.

Should Axar Patel’s fitness remain uncertain leading up to the WC, Ravichandran could secure his spot on the roster. Nevertheless, ex-Australian skipper Aaron Finch expresses skepticism about Ashwin’s chances of making the 15-member squad for the tournament. While chatting with Star Sports before the 3rd One Day International (ODI) between India and Australia, Finch boldly questioned Ravichandran’s inclusion, despite the spinner’s remarkable form.
Aaron Finch said, “I think he (Ashwin) might struggle to make it to the final 15, but as somebody who has played so much cricket, I think the rest of the group that is with the Indian team for this current series against Australia, they could learn so much about big gameplay. Because Ashwin is somebody that stands up in big games, whether it’s a Test match or a T20 game, he has done it all throughout his career. So I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s there at the moment as a mentor around the group, but I don’t see him making that last 15, unfortunately.”
