Teams Analysis

West Indies (WI):

One of the most destructive sides in terms of batting had a brilliant session in their group stage, but in the first match of Super 8 they got destroyed by England with a huge margin. They looked brilliant in both the departments and now they have to perform this in the upcoming matches so that they might be seen in the Semi Final round.

Nicholas Pooran is currently their leading runs scorer from the side with 200 runs on his credit. He got one half-century to his name and that came against Afghanistan in the last group match where he scored brilliant 98 runs and missed the century by just 2 runs. His strike rate is 141.84 and has an average of 40.

Opener Johnson Charles has scored a little slow and managed 125 runs till now. He is known for his destruction from the start but till now his strike rate is 114.68. He needs to be a little more aggressive with the bat. While his partner Brandon King who has managed only 86 runs with a strike rate of 126.47. He also failed to get some healthy runs on the board at the start.

Skipper Rovman Powell after some low scores looked solid against England in the last match where he showed his aggressiveness after scoring 36 runs in 17 balls and hit 5 sixes there. Team needs more of this kind of innings so that huge scores can be achieved. The other finisher of the team Sherfane Rutherford is playing with full of his hard hitting as his strike rate is 155.13 and scored 121 runs till now.

Andre Russell shines more in his bowling than with the bat. He has got 6 wickets till now and has scored 63 runs with a strike rate of 165.79.

Looking at the bowling unit, Akeal Hosein and Alzarri Joseph both topped the list from the team with 9 wickets to their name. Hosein has been brilliant with the line and length and has an economy of 5.11 while Joseph being little expensive as his economy is 7.33.

United States of America (USA):

They have shown a brilliant performance in the group stage. As a whole team they are performing decently till now. Their bowling is getting better day by day but they need to be a little more consistent with the line and length so that they can restrict the opposition quite easily.

In the batting department, Andries Gous is leading the chart for the most run-scorer from the team. He added 182 runs in 4 innings and had a strike rate 146.77 and the best came against South Africa where he scored unbeaten 80 runs and almost took his team to the victory but failed at last. His averages increased day by day and is 60.67.

Aaron Jones who is currently leading the team in the absence of Monank Patel has failed after getting a good start in the tournament. At the start of the tournament he looked solid where he scored 94 runs against Canada. In the last two matches he scored 11 & 0. He needs to stick more at the crease so that huge scores can be achieved.

Monank Patel who performed better in the match against Pakistan where he scored brilliant 50 runs. Due to the injury he was not able to play in the last two matches. The team needs him in the opening so that he can again contribute with the bat. Except for them, none of the other batters performed decently.

In the bowling unit, Saurabh Netravalkar has been getting more perfection with the line and length as the day passes by. He currently has 6 wickets to his credit and the economy being 5.21, which is the best among the bowlers in the team.

Other bowlers, Ali Khan, Harmeet Singh and Nosthusha Kenjige got 3 wickets each.

Pitch Report for the match between West Indies (WI) and United States of America (USA):

The match will be played at Kensington Oval, Bridgetown, Barbados. 58m, 67m square boundaries, 70m down the ground. It looks like a really good pitch with a few cracks on it. The ball should come on to the bat nicely and the bowlers need to bowl in the right areas. Batters should prosper on this wicket. A bat first pitch. Batting first might be a good option here after winning the toss.
