The Indian Men’s Cricket Team will contest for the Gold

Team India showed pure dominance in both the departments as they defeated Bangladesh by 9 wickets in the Semi final of the Asian Games. An easy victory to the team.

After batting first Bangladesh scored 96/9 in 20 overs which Indian team chased down easily in 9.2 overs and scored 97/1. 

India reached the Semi Final stage after defeating Nepal in the quarterfinals by 23 runs whereas Bangladesh reached the Semi final after defeating Malaysia in a close encounter by 2 runs. 

After winning the toss, Indian skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad invited the opponents to bat. 

Bengal batters were struggling from the start and were unable to score big runs. Jaker Ali (24 runs) the keeper from the team scored the most runs in his match for his team. He remained unbeaten till the end but took 29 balls to reach there and only hit a single six in his innings. Opener Parvez Hossain emon (23 runs) started his inning well but wasn’t able to capitalize it well.

Only one more batter except the above two Rakibul Hasan (14 runs) were seen in double digit. The remaining players just went to the pavilion one after the other. They were unable to build any big partnerships neither the batsmen showed any signs to give more time to the pitch. In the end they only managed 96 runs in 20 overs by losing 9 wickets.     

Bowlers did a fantastic job by restricting the opponents to a low score, especially the spinners who got 8 wickets out of 9. Ravisrinivasan Sai Kishore the most successful bowler in this match got 3 wickets by giving away only 12 runs in his 4 overs. Washington Sundar also bowled well and grabbed 2 wickets by giving away only 15 runs in his 4 overs. Tilak Varma, Shahbaz Ahmed, Ravi Bishnoi and pacer Arshdeep Singh get 1 wicket each.   

The start of the Indian innings didn’t go well as they lost the star of the previous match Yashasvi Jaiswal in the very first over. He didn’t score any runs in this match. But after his departure the remaining two batters, Ruturaj Gaikwad (40 runs) and Tilak Varma (55 runs) showed no mistake and took their team to the victory. 

Tilak was more aggressive as he played only 26 balls and hit 2 fours and 6 sixes in his innings. Gaikwad on the other hand also played well and took 26 balls and hit 4 fours and 3 sixes in his knock. These two easily chased down the target in 9.2 overs and scored 97 runs by losing only one wicket.
Ripon Mondol was the only bowler from the Bangladesh side who took the wicket of Jasiwal in the first over.
