Rajasthan Royals (RR) had to play Qualifier 2 as the match against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) was abandoned due to the rain.
With this, the group stage round came to an end, and Kolkata will meet against Hyderabad on Tuesday for the Qualifier 1 while Rajasthan will meet Bengaluru for the Qualifier 2 on Wednesday.
The rain was consistent due to which it gets delayed and delayed. But as soon as the rain stopped, the groundsmen did a fantastic job and dried up the whole ground at full pace. Due to their brilliant effort the toss was made at around 10:30 P.M. and Kolkata, after winning the toss chose to bowl first.
Each team can bowl for 7 overs and only two bowlers will bowl for 2 overs. But as soon as the toss happened, the rain again came and interrupted the whole match. After that without any delivery the officials announced the match to be called off.
Before this, when these two met against each other, Rajasthan got an upper hand due to Jos Butler’s fantastic century that pulled them up against the Men in Purple.
On the other hand, Knight Riders were unable to play back to back matches as their previous encounter against GT was washed off due to the same reason.
