Rohit Sharma’s brilliant knock guided India to an easy win over Pakistan. They defeated their arch rival by 7 wickets. Also a huge credit goes to the Indian bowlers who restricted the Pakistani batters in a batting friendly pitch.
Pakistan scored 191/10 in 42.5 overs and in reply India chased down the target easily in 30.3 overs and scored 192/3.

Pakistan started well but couldn’t survive much longer. Abdullah Shafique (20 runs) and Imam-ul-Haq (36 runs) provided 41 runs for the 1st wicket. Imam after getting a good start couldn’t hold much longer. Babar Azam (50 runs) scored his first half century against the arch rivals.
Babar along with Mohammad Rizwan (49 runs) put 82 runs for the 3rd wicket. Rizwan misses his 3rd consecutive half century just by a run. After their departure batting collapsed and the remaining 7 wickets fell in just 46 runs. Due to the batting collapse in the middle and the lower order batsmen they only managed 191 runs in 42.5 overs and all the wickets got lost.
Credit goes to the Indian bowlers who restricted the Pak batsmen in a high scoring pitch. Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammad Siraj, Kuldeep Yadav, Hardik Pandya and Ravindra Jadeja got 2 wickets each. Special mention to Siraj who got the wicket of Babar and shifted the momentum towards the blue men.
During the chase, Rohit Sharma (86 runs) showed his destruction and carried his form from the last match. Shubman Gill (16 runs) played his first World Cup match but was unable to score much. Despite getting out on a low score, he looks good with the bat. Rohit also completed 300 sixes in ODIs. he hit 6 fours and 6 sixes in his innings.
Virat Kohli (16 runs) missed his third consecutive half centuries in this tournament. He along with Rohit provided a partnership of 56 runs. In the end Shreyas Iyer (53 runs) and KL Rahul (19 runs) got an easy win in 30.3 overs and scored 192 runs by losing 3 wickets only.
Shaheen Afridi got 2 wickets while Hasan Ali got 1 wicket.
