Rohit retired from tests? The story behind the buzz

Indian test and ODI skipper Rohit Sharma might not play the final test match against Australia in Sydney. It will be a deciding factor for the Indian team as they are 2-1 behind in the Border-Gavaskar test series.

Now according to some sources, it is suggesting that Rohit might not play the Sydney test and Jasprit Bumrah might be given charge of the team. The Indian skipper already missed the first test match where the team won the match by 295 runs under the captaincy of Bumrah. Then he made his entry into the 2nd match where the team lost the match by 10 wickets, where he played at number 6. While returning to his opening position in the MCG test (4th), he didn’t get enough runs on the board and departed early.

Rohit has been inconsistent with the bat in the red ball cricket in the last few series where he averages less than 15 in the 9 test matches. He got past just only once 50+ score. His weakness against Pat Cummins has been seen, where he got out 6 times against him which is the most dismissal in Test cricket from one skipper to opposition skipper.

The reports are also suggesting that it might be the end of Sharma in the red ball cricket and might continue to serve in the 50-over format only.

In the recent press conference, when Gautam Gambhir (Indian head coach) was asked about the playing possibility of the Indian skipper he remained silent to that question and told it all depends upon the situation and the final playing 11 will be done before the match after inspecting the pitch. This already created a huge chaos among the fans and from there many of them expected the axe of Rohit from the team.

From this it can be easily seen that KL Rahul will open along with Yashasvi Jaiswal whereas Shubman Gill will mark his entry into the playing 11 and might be seen in number 3 position.

Expected Indian playing 11 for the Sydney Test:

Jasprit Bumrah ©, KL Rahul, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Shubman Gill, Virat Kohli, Rishabh Pant, Nitish Kumar Reddy, Ravindra Jadeja, Washington Sundar, Prasidh Krishna, Mohammad Siraj.
